I have included four scenes from the Hours of Henry VIII, created ca. 1500 in Tours and currently located at the Pierpont Morgan Library (MS H.8). The current calendar scene (fol. 6) shows two swineherds knocking down acorns for their pigs. Both wear a Shepherds Purse, one with marks indicating netting, but either the netting is of very crude quality, or it has become an artistic convention that no longer represents anything functional.
