I have included four scenes from the Hours of Henry VIII, created ca. 1500 in Tours and currently located at the Pierpont Morgan Library (MS H.8). The current calendar scene (fol. 6) shows a group of reapers and, in the middle of their work, a large white sack and a costrel, presumably containing provisions. While the structure of the sack is not entirely clear, it appears to be the double-ended type also seen in this manuscript for the mowers.
